What wears suspension here
Why suspension and alignment in Dubai need regular checks
Suspension and alignment in Dubai take steady punishment from speed bumps in every community, kerbs in tight parking and heavy SUVs carrying families and luggage. Heat adds to the wear by hardening the rubber bushes that hold everything in place.
Shock absorbers slowly lose their damping, so the change is easy to miss. The car starts to float over highway joints, dives under braking and takes longer to settle after a bump. Worn shocks also lengthen stopping distances and make tyres skip on the road surface.
Rubber bushes, anti-roll bar links and ball joints dry out and crack in high temperatures. That shows up as knocking over bumps, a wandering feel at speed or a steering wheel that shimmies. Desert trips and sand driving add extra strain to lower arms, CV boots and steering racks.
A hard hit on a kerb or pothole can knock the wheel alignment out even when nothing is broken. The car pulls to one side, the steering wheel is no longer straight and tyres wear unevenly on the inside or outside edge, which costs money quickly on expensive SUV tyres.
We start with an inspection of shocks, springs, bushes, joints and steering parts, then recommend only what is worn. After suspension or steering parts are replaced, a wheel alignment is done on a workshop alignment machine so the angles are set to specification.
