Heat does most of the damage. Months of high under-bonnet temperatures, short hops along Jumeirah Beach Road and long spells parked outside wear a Volvo battery down faster than it would in a cooler climate, and the weakness tends to show up in summer.
Many recent Volvo models use AGM batteries, and on larger models such as the XC90 the battery sits in the boot. A new battery should be registered to the car's battery monitoring system.
We regularly replace batteries in the XC90, XC60, XC40, and S90. Whichever Volvo you drive, the technician tests the old battery first, confirms the correct size and type for your car, then fits and checks the new one while you watch.
