Heat does most of the damage. Months of high under-bonnet temperatures, short hops along Jumeirah Beach Road and long spells parked outside wear a BMW battery down faster than it would in a cooler climate, and the weakness tends to show up in summer.
Recent BMW models commonly take AGM batteries, and a replacement must be registered to the car's battery management system. Many keep the battery in the boot, with dedicated terminals under the bonnet for boosting.
We regularly replace batteries in the 3 Series, 5 Series, 7 Series, and X5. Whichever BMW you drive, the technician tests the old battery first, confirms the correct size and type for your car, then fits and checks the new one while you watch.
