1. Who we are and how to contact us
Jumeirah Battery is a mobile car battery service based in Jumeirah and serving the rest of Dubai. We replace car batteries on the spot and also provide jump starts, battery boosting and charging, battery testing, and, where needed, car recovery, roadside assistance and garage services. We operate the website jumeirahbattery.ae.
We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. If you have a question about your data, you can reach us by phone on +971 54 318 8600 or on WhatsApp at +971543188600.
2. Information we collect
Our website has no contact forms, user accounts or online payments, so we collect only a limited amount of information. It comes from three sources.
- Server logs: when you visit jumeirahbattery.ae, our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, pages requested, referring page and the date and time of the visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files and scripts, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads tags, that record how you use the site and whether you tap our call or WhatsApp buttons. See the cookies section below.
- Details you give us on a call or WhatsApp: your name, phone number, vehicle make, model and year, your vehicle's location or a shared live location, a description of the problem, and any photos, videos or voice notes you choose to send.
- Job records: the work carried out, parts or batteries supplied, the price agreed, the payment method and the invoice and warranty details.
3. How we use your information
We use personal data only for purposes connected with helping you and running our business responsibly.
- To understand the problem and give you a quote.
- To dispatch a technician or recovery vehicle to your location and keep you updated on the way.
- To complete the job, issue an invoice and take payment.
- To follow up on warranty claims, returns or questions about work we have done.
- To keep records required for accounting, tax and legal purposes.
- To keep the website secure, fix problems and improve its content and performance.
- To measure the effectiveness of our advertising, including counting call and WhatsApp button clicks as conversions, and to show our ads to people who have visited the site.
4. Legal bases and consent
We process personal data in line with the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and other applicable UAE laws.
Depending on the purpose, we rely on your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies and when you choose to share your location or photos), on the need to take steps you ask for before or under a service agreement, on compliance with our legal obligations, and on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and promoting our service where these do not override your rights.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
5. Cookies and advertising
jumeirahbattery.ae uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. We use Google Tag Manager to manage tags, Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and Google Ads for conversion tracking and remarketing.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
When you tap a call or WhatsApp button, that click may be recorded as a conversion so we can tell which ads and pages help people reach us. This measurement does not give Google or us the content of your call or messages.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you from calling or messaging us, but some measurement features may not work.
- Opt out of personalised advertising from Google by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com.
- Opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices.
- Prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. WhatsApp
If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages, shared location, photos and voice notes are transmitted and processed by WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, under WhatsApp's own terms of service and privacy policy.
We use the content you send only to handle your request. We recommend you review WhatsApp's privacy settings and policy to understand how it handles your data.
7. Who we share information with
We share personal data only where it is needed to deliver the service, to run our business or to meet a legal requirement. We never sell your personal data.
- Our technicians and drivers, so they can find your vehicle and do the work.
- Recovery and towing partners and partner workshops, when your vehicle needs to be collected or repaired off site.
- Payment and buy-now-pay-later providers, such as card processors, tabby or tamara, if you choose to pay with them at the car. They process your data under their own terms.
- Service providers that support our business, such as website hosting, analytics, advertising, telephony, messaging and accounting providers.
- Police, the RTA, courts or other authorities where we are required to by law or need to protect our rights, our staff or others.
8. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Google and Meta, may store or process data on servers outside the UAE.
Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in line with UAE data protection law and receives an appropriate level of protection.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for.
- Call and WhatsApp details for an enquiry that did not lead to a job are kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle the enquiry.
- Job records and invoices are kept for as long as the product and workmanship warranty runs and for the period required by UAE accounting, tax and legal obligations.
- Analytics and advertising data is kept for the retention periods set in Google's tools, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including limiting access to people who need it for the job.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending sensitive information we have not asked for.
11. Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable UAE law, you have rights over your personal data.
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your data, unless we must keep it for legal, accounting or warranty reasons.
- Objection and restriction: object to or ask us to limit certain processing, including for marketing and advertising purposes.
- Withdraw consent: withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
12. How to exercise your rights
To make a request, call us on +971 54 318 8600 or message us on WhatsApp at +971543188600. We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example by contacting us from the phone number linked to your job.
We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with the timeframes set by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise a complaint with the competent UAE data protection authority.
13. Children
Our website and services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when our services, the tools we use or the law change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
